On October 8, 2024, the Academic Writing Center of Caucasus University hosted the 4th International Conference dedicated to ethical principles in education.
Representatives from Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University also took part in the event. Professors Nino Kakhashvili and Salome Tatulishvili delivered a joint presentation titled "Attitudes of Academic Staff Towards Research Ethics Principles – the Case of Telavi State University." Additionally, Sophio Arsenishvili presented on the topic "Academic Integrity in the Process of Group Work."
The conference focused on key issues such as the ethical use of generative AI tools, principles of academic integrity and ethics in teaching and learning, and the role of ethics in higher education. Participants also had the exclusive opportunity to attend a panel discussion by the European Network for Academic Integrity, held online, on the topic: “Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education.”
The aim of the event was to create a platform for experience sharing and case analysis among participants, which in turn supports the development of effective strategies to address emerging challenges in the academic field. This annual conference is held within the framework of the Erasmus+ Institutional Development Project "Academic Integrity for Quality Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Institutions in Georgia " (INTEGRITY).
This year, the focus on research ethics was further emphasized due to the ongoing international project "Responsible Conduct of Research – Research Integrity and Ethics in Georgian Universities" (ETHICS).
